The Miss Jacksonville and Miss River City Scholarship Competition is a production of the Miss Jacksonville Competition, Inc, and is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that receives no public or government funding. Miss Jacksonville Competition, Inc. relies on contributions from generous members of the community and local business owners. Scholarships provide opportunities to talented and intelligent women right in our Jacksonville community. Donations of in-kind are a tremendous help and are used to support the titleholders. Funds raised go toward scholarships for the titleholder(s) and assist with the overall costs of producing the competition itself.

With over sixty years of combined experience in the pageant industry represented by its Board of Directors, the MJC exists to promote scholastic excellence in today's young women.  It encourages young women, 13 - 26 years of age, to strive to exceed their goals and accomplish their dreams through participation in the worthwhile. life-changing scholarship program.

As part of the Miss Florida and Miss America Organizations, the Miss Jacksonville and Miss River City Competition is proud to contribute to one of the largest sources of scholarship opportunities for women in the world. The winners of Miss Jacksonville, Miss River City, and their Outstanding Teens will compete for the prestigious titles of Miss Florida and Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen. Not only will they gain scholarship money from our competition, but hopefully at the state and national level. Should any of our contestants win the state titles, she will have the opportunity to compete to become Miss America or Miss America's Outstanding Teen! 

Participating in the Miss Florida/Miss America System not only helps young women pay for college and prepare for a career, it also provides an opportunity to gain additional life experience, work on issues of importance to society, enhance personal and professional skills and develop performance-related talents. In addition, throughout her Year of Service, each titleholder will have the chance to network with the people of our great City and promote a social impact initiative that is near to her heart.
